Ron Howard’s new movie Angels and Demons, a sequel to The DaVinci Code, has premiered in Rome with no reaction from the Vatican.

Except for a long yawn.

Ron, formerly “Opie” on TV, had counted on continuing religious controversy from “DaVinci” to propel “Angels” to box office dollars.

The Vatican, somewhat true to its reputation for intrigue so deftly exploited by Howard, has refused to play along this time. Messing up Howard’s marketing plans.

Hey, Opie, maybe Barney Fife wasn’t your best choice for marketing guru!

I prefer to think that Ron’s “Ritchie Cunningham” persona is responsible for this rather than OPIE. Opie (and Oprah) rule the world.
