Harvard Don’t Teach No Grammar March 14, 2009

Posted by gregquill in Uncategorized.

Announcing some FDA stuff, Obama spoke about the peanuts recall.

Obama said he takes food safety seriously not just as a president, but as the parent of daughters 10 and 7 years old.

When he learned of the peanut product recall, Obama said he immediately thought of his younger daughter, Sasha, who eats peanut butter sandwiches several times a week.

“No parent should have to worry that their child is going to get sick from their lunch,” he said.

If Harvard DID teach grammar, he might have said,
“No parent should have to worry that his child will get sick from her lunch.”

Sandy, I read his comment that he was speaking as a parent, and they/he/she have two girls. It’s the plural/singular thing I illustrated.

Oh wait; maybe it’s the Imperial They instead of the Imperial We. Uhmmm…… Nah…

College handbooks are written now by undergrads on work-study, checked by convicts on work release, working under administrators most interested in making Federal funding work out. Regretably, it doesn’t work. None of it.

And now we have an “ed-u-kay-shun” pres’dent. Again.

Is our children learning though?

Apparently not if they’re at Harvard.
