CNN:
Almost 2,000 rescued in Galveston area

“The largest search-and-rescue operation in Texas history is under way with rescuers combing swamped streets and rubble left behind by Hurricane Ike. Nearly 2,000 people have been brought to safety from dangerous situations in the storm’s aftermath. ”

Those who stayed behind were warned: they faced “certain death”. Well, Texas – the state which leads the nation in prisoner executions – will now carry out that sentence.

Those who thumbed their noses at the warnings thought the cautions were about the storm? Ha! These government good ol’ boys are laughin’ all the way to the ammo counter at Wal*Mart!
