Well, now I’m confused. She said she killed the “bridge to nowhere” in her recent speeches; but now we learn she favored it in the 2006 gubernatorial campaign. http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=5697644&page=1 She changed her mind when the U.S. Congress doubled the amount of money Alaska would have to pay. This was a Ted Stevens boondoogle in the Senate.

The troopergate investigation will certainly be a distraction. And now the private family matter, which will be blown all out of proportion. I happen to agree with Obama: family, and especially kids, of politicos should be off limits, and they will be on this blog.

But, I now may wind up voting for McCain (I’m more minimal government libertarian now than ever), just based on the lousy vetting his staff did in this case. That could provide endless entertainment in the next four years as McCain nominates randomly selected supreme court justices, cabinet officers and ambassadors. We’d never know what’s next!
