Oh, Well April 27, 2008

The way I see it, this Presidential campaign is the Democrats’ to lose.

The team of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney could not win a popularity contest if they were the only two judges of it.

The economy is tanking, two wars are apparently continuing unabated for 100 more years, and the Republicans picked a candidate with high patriotism, no executive experience and intellectual achievements comparable to W’s.

This from the International Herald Tribune just before the Pennsylvania primary:

“The Clinton campaign released an ad accusing Senator Barack Obama of taking money from lobbyists over the last 10 years, while the Obama campaign fired back in its own commercial, describing the Clinton ad as misleading and complaining of “11th-hour smears.” The back and forth came as Obama on Saturday called Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton a “slash-and-burn” game player who will do anything to win.”

It’s theirs to lose, and that seems to be their plan. Both of them.

It is times like this that force introspection, and examination of conscience, and then the question: What have I done to you people?! I’m really, really sorry! Now let’s forget this “write-in” punishment.
