Pull out? Maybe There’s a Better Way. July 15, 2007

$700,000,000,000.  Seven hundred billion dollars.  That’s the current CBO estimate for the Iraq war cost through 2008. And, the Iraqi politicians are TAKING THE MONTH OF AUGUST OFF?!

If we pull out now, what do we have to show for it? I mean, besides all the bad stuff?

Instead, let’s move all of our Army, our Navy, our Air Force and certainly our Marines AND the National Guard to the infamous Iraqi oil fields. Wall in the oil field with a huge wall, and put all of our troops inside a huge fort with no windows, no doors and no stairways on the Iraq side. Get somebody from South Beach to deck it out so our folks get some luxury for a change. Make it impregnable.  When it’s safe, bring 80% of our troops home – by Halloween, say.

Modern docks on the Gulf side. So we can get all of OUR oil out. For the next 200 years. We have paid for it, over and over again; it’s OURS.

With missiles pointed at the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, so that when that Osama dude sticks his head up…

And let al-Malaki handle things himself on HIS side of the wall.

That’s not a half bad idea. Makes too much sense of course. Maybe if you threw in some pork the idea may actually fly?

Well, I may want to snub politician’s noses, but this guy doesn’t want to infuriate ALL of the Shiite and Sunni Muslims with any pork ploy.

Congratulations, Greg!

My work did another filtering of websites, and now I can’t access any Blogger site at all. Your site is the only site I can access now from work. Hurray for WordPress!
