Target Rich Environment April 28, 2007

When Navy flyers get into a big dogfight and are outnumbered by the bad guys, they call it a “target rich environment”. That means that it’s like shooting fish in a barrel: just point and shoot, and you’ll hit something.

The 2008 election season – which seems to be starting too early for me – is such an environment, for pundits, critics and, yes, bloggers. Well, bring ’em on! Giulani, McCain, Obama, Bidden – truly fish in a barrel.

Which brings us to Hillary.

Today, she gave a well-reasoned, cogent, persuasive critique of President Bush’s “Mission Accomplished” speech on an aircraft carrier four years ago.  In 2003.  That speech, Clinton said, was “one of the most shameful episodes in American history. … The only mission he accomplished was the re-election of Republicans.”

She surely brought out the big guns, and she lambasted the President mightily.

Which would be even more effective, if he were a candidate…

Greg, I’d like you to join me in my mission to have Anonymous on the ballot in 2008.

Anonymous is the only candidate who can make a difference.

Stew, it’s time to revisit that policy about not blogging drunk.

Sandy, every elected offical becomes “anonymous” when the heat is on. It becomes “Who’s on First” – which is worth a read, here: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/humor4.shtml
